FAQ
Is the OSS tier really production-grade?
Yes. Our own products (Argitron, VoxRidge, SwiftCrane, Billitron, DwellPort) run on the same code path. No artificial limits in OSS — feature parity with Cloud Growth at the platform layer.
What's the difference between OSS and Cloud?
OSS = you operate it. Cloud = we operate it. Same code. Cloud adds managed runners, hosted Studio, SSO/SCIM, audit log, and an SLA.
Can I self-host the workflow engine?
Absolutely. The workflow engine is the same binary in OSS and Cloud — runs on your Kubernetes / Nomad / VMs / bare metal. Workers run wherever the activities need to run.
Why no per-workflow-run pricing?
Because per-action pricing is the #1 reason teams abandon Temporal Cloud and similar platforms when they scale. We charge per cluster — predictable, bounded, doesn't punish growth.
Can I use my own LLM / vector DB / message bus?
Yes. Activities are pluggable. Bring Claude, GPT, Gemini, your own. Bring NATS, Kafka, Redis. Bring Postgres, MySQL, anything-Postgres-compatible.
What if I want to leave?
Eject. The generated code is yours under Apache 2.0. Take it, fork it, run it without Studio. The escape hatch is real.
